This Rape Survivor and the Man Who Raped Her Have Teamed Up to Tell Their Story

Source: Cosmopolitan
This article talks about a women who was raped at 16 by her boyfriend who forced himself on her while she was drunk. Obviously the incident affected her badly emotionally and physically,  she says "limping for days and crying for weeks". After 10 years, the women, Thordis Elva decided to contact the assualter, Tom Stranger and release her emotions and feelings to him, they then met up and now are for some reason writing a book together called "South of Forgiveness". They want to show that healing is possible after sexual assault which I think is a good idea but she can write the book without him just like how she dealt with the pain he caused, without him.
"Stranger recounts that for years he didn't view what had happened as rape either but carried with a hollowness and guilt..." Rape is rape, he forced himself on her, therefore it's rape. I don't know what part of the incident makes it not rape? This whole issue is just advertising to all rapists that they can rape people and then team up with their vitcim. The man should be in prison not giving talks to people about the situation. By giving this man a platform to talk on and the opportunity to write a whole book, is suggesting that what he did was okay. Yes he may be sorry and feels disgusting but what's his punishment? Money after releasing his book? Even though the incident happened a long time ago it's still disgusting. Things like this is probably another reason as to why rape victims don't want to speak up, they either won't be believed or won't get the justice they deserve because there are clearly so many people on rapists sides. This is a representation of issues.
